This Kitchen Renovation was literally done for under five-hundred dollars. It is an absolute crazy transformation, for cheap. I have to give big props to Vinyl Plank Flooring (Stay Place), Behr Kitchen Cabinet Paint & Home Depot Light fixtures. All purchased at Home Depot - our go to store!
Before picture of our farmhouse kitchen
As you can take the flooring isn’t in the best condition, there’s a hole in the skylight, the cabinets & counter tops make the room super dark. Oh & let me point out, that light fixture in our dining room, it’s kind cute, right? Glen never actually connected the wiring, so it didn’t work for 6 months.
After
New floors, DIY Barn Doors, Painted Cabinets, Faux Backsplash, new light fixtures & new-to-us appliances.
-So lets get started, shall we?
This is what we used:
-Vinyl Planking
-Behr Kitchen Cabinet Paint
-Stick & Rip BackSplash
-Two Light Fixtures from Home Depot
If I had hours to sit on my computer and scroll through the Home Depot website to give you direct links, I would, but I don’t. I swear, if you walk into the store though, you will easily be able to find these things. Below shows us almost done installing the floors & a picture of the box.
This is literally the only picture I have of installing the flooring. It went fast & was easy. Maybe that’s why I didn’t snap any photos. Our daughter was even “helping” us, hence the cheerios all over our floor. The box says “Stay Place” You literally just put it into place and the baseboards hold it in place. It took under 3 hours to do our entire kitchen & we’ve had it installed for over 7 months now and we’re so happy with it. Cleans extremely well and looks amazing. You can’t tell it’s vinyl - it looks like grey barn wood. Back in august we paid 41.00 a box, and I believe we needed 5 or 6 boxes. I’m so sorry my mind is so foggy guys. It was a while ago.
We actually ended up doing our entrance & bathroom in this stuff at a later date as we loved the color and look so much.
The Barn Doors. Can we just sit and stare at these for a bit? I wanted a set in my home so bad, but we live in the teeniest little farmhouse ever and we had no place for such a big set. Then it happened. Our closest doors, like everything in our home started falling apart. I swear, things like to break in our home. So instead of spending money on another set of closet doors, we decided to build a set. Guys, It is easier than it looks. But if you literally can’t measure or don’t own tools you can buy pre-made barn doors at Home Depot now, I JUST saw them today. They were 125.00 Each. This is in Canada, could be cheaper in the states. We put them on plumbing hardware as to purchase a double set of barn door hardware is over 500.00! YIKES, who has that kinda cash laying around? Okay… maybe a few people, or a a lot. Not us! We like to spend as little as possible. Here’s the link for the hardware tutorial.
The plumbing hardware cost us under 30.00!
The light fixtures. They cost us under 100 bucks each! This one came with glass panels and we opted to not put them in to give our room a bit more of a modern flare. I love mixing industrial, country & modern elements! I’m sorry for the bad photos - I never thought I would be writing a blog on our reno, so the shots are bad quality and all I could find in my ‘junk folder’.

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
