My Blog Makeover With Studio Mommy

October 4, 2018 5 Comments

I’m up late tonight because I can’t sleep. Pretty sure this is the worst when you have a baby that wants to eat all night long. But hey, I’m taking advantage of this insomnia by writing this blog because when tomorrow rolls around, count me right out. But I wanted to chat with you about my blog makeover I had done a few weeks ago from Studio Mommy.

For those of you who have been following me since the beginning, you’ll know my blog has gone through a lot of seasons. I designed my website from scratch on WordPress.Org and my Host is Siteground. It was all fine and dandy, but the last few months I’ve wanted to come across as more professional. My site didn’t really flow as well as I wanted it to and it was always glitching and the CSS was all out of whack ( I’m sorry for using technical terms with you guys ). Finally I went hunting for a new Theme for my blog and came across the “Adore Me” theme from Studio Mommy. My first reaction was that I needed it in my life like yesterday. It was seamless, professional but yet had a touch of femininity.

My New Blog Makeover and How You Can Get One Too For Under 50 Dollars

What drew me to this theme was that it was gorgeous but also super easy to navigate and so many places for your eyes to look. I like eye candy on my blog and this theme seemed to have a ton of it. There is also nothing worse than finding something inspiring on Pinterest and then going to their website and trying to find your way around and not being able to. I liked that it was easy to navigate and pretty.

This theme is also customizable. So if you look at my website instead of it being pink and black, it’s pink and dark beige to match the feel of my Instagram and if you change things up in the future you can easily go into your “customize” area to change the colours.

I decided to try out my new theme before blogging about it because I wanted to understand it and really get a feel for all the elements. As the days go on I’m so happy that I picked this theme. It really makes me so happy when I look at my website and see how streamlined it looks. This theme cost 50.00 and honestly, It looked like it costs thousands ( because that’s what it would cost to have a designer work on your website ) If you have no idea how to install a zip file onto your website, April will install it for you and it’s only 89.00. SO for 139.00 you could have a brand new beautiful website. Sounds like a steal of a deal to me!

Studio Mommy has quite a few other themes to choose from, but here are a few things that “Adore Me” offers:

“Comes with a fade-in effect on the homepage, call to action boxes, Pinterest style categories, 10 styled stock photos, plus much more.”

My Website Makeover and How You Can Get One Too!

When blogging or running a website, your design is even more important than your content because people are drawn to beauty. So you can have amazing content but if it’s poorly laid out and your site isn’t beautiful you will miss out on a lot of viewers. It’s a harsh reality but people are drawn to beauty. I cannot wait to see my views keep climbing as they’ve gone up 27% since installing this beautiful theme.

I hope this blog inspires you to invest in yourself and your blog.

It looks great. I’ll check it out. I struggle with WordPress because it’s so limiting if you don’t upgrade and get plugins.
I would love to have a way for people to click on some printable to buy and they get a link or it emailed to them but it just sends money to me and I have no idea who gave me the money and they receive nothing. Do you know a way around this?

I’ve been looking to improve my blog lately. I’m still new so a little intimidated about the process but I know it will be worth it in the end. Your new look is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing the details.

Love the new website design! You’re so right about how important it is to have a website that’s beautiful! I feel like I’ve been working my butt off trying to get mine to look the way I envision it, but it still feels like it’s lacking in so many areas. I don’t have any money to invest in it right now, but I do think it’d help attract an audience when I reach the point where I might be making money. It’s such a catch 22 for me! Anyway, thank you for giving the inside scoop on your design. I love when bloggers are open about how they’ve achieved those sorts of things!
