First, before going into this project on my Ikea Hack Cane Shelves, I wanted to tell you how thankful to each one of you who checks out the blog every day. Blogging is seriously so therapeutic for me and the blog views have doubled this month. So thank you!
Back in February we went to pick up an order from the Us/Canadian boarder and I had this caning weave shipped to my US Mailbox. You can also order it in Canada, but at the time, it was sold out.

It’s no secret that Cane-anything is super popular right now and I wanted to put cane on our boring FLISAT Ikea shelves.
I purchased these shelves from Ikea and here is the caning weave I bought. I made a Tiktok video on the process of making my cane shelves. It’s honestly super easy, you just need to make sure you have a staple gun on hand - you can purchase these from Home Depot for 10 dollars.

Shop List For Cane Shelves
- FLISAT Wall Storage Shelves
- Staple Gun - I have this one
- Caning Weave
- Stain - Although I didn’t stain
This link takes you to my Tiktok to watch the 10 second tutorial to make cane shelves. In short, you attach the caning to the shelves prior to completely putting them together. It took is 25 minutes to put three shelves together and they’re super cute hung! The point of using a staple gun is that if you ever get tired of the caning someday, you can rip it off without damage to the shelves!

They’re super simple shelves, but the add so much to our kiddos room. I originally had these in our office, but I decided to move them into Brinley + Rhett’s room as this side of their room had really nothing on it.
And there is my super simple tutorial on how to make these Ikea Hack Cane Shelves. So easy for a huge impact. I will link peg hook rack as well as the combo is super fun!
