Hottest Interior Paint Colors

December 10, 2016 2 Comments

I recently had a reader ask me to do a blog on the hottest interior paint colors. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before as I’ve had so many people ask me about interior paint over the years.

Let me be supppper honest here. In this blog you wont find colour. You will find pretty shades. I’m not a fan of colour and my style of decorating isn’t either. So if you want red or blue - this blog wont be for you!

My compilation of photos will be from pinterest so if you want to see those rooms more in detail, I will link the sources below. Our farmhouse was “griege” which is super in right now. it’s Beige & Grey in one. It’s one of the most coziest colors and super easy to decorate with. I do love griege so much but I’m also a fan of greys and whites. So below you will find styling with different shades.

Hottest Interior Paint Colors

  1. Light Grey - Mineral Ice ( Benjamin Moore )

Light grey is one of my favourite paints to decorate around. Look how it makes the floors and rails pop right out. The only thing is, it isn’t the coziest colour ever. So if you want to do this colour you need to have pops of warmth like flooring or rustic pieces scattered around your home that will evoke a ton of warmth. I’ve seen this colour done with all white furniture and little warmth. If that’s your jam you go for it, it is still VERY pretty. But since most of us don’t live in a magazine and love to add warmth into our homes I would highly recommend adding wood tones with this colour.

I’ve also seen this colour done on shiplap which is also stunning and adds so much character! Above I tagged the source of this photo & the paint chip. If you do not live near BM or have a favourite paint store, just print off the above paint chip and get them to match it.

2. White - Snow White ( Benjamin Moore )

I absolutely LOVE white and we will be doing our bedroom in white as soon as the Holidays are over. Look how much even the most simple decor pops out? If you have a small space white is the best color to maximize this space as it makes your room appear much larger! Keep in mind primer is NOT the same as a crisp white. So if you’re building a home or moving into a new home the white that comes on the walls is a primer. You will want to purchase a nice crisp white.

3. “Greige” - Barren Plain ( Benjamin Moore )

4. Cream - Stoneware ( Benjamin Moore )

The reason I love this color is because it’s so bright and airy, yet cozy. It reminds me of a color that would be in an old country house, yet as you can tell in this photo it is decorate with mid century, modern and contemporary pieces. My mom recently did her home in this color and it is the coziest beachouse ever. Love white but don’t have a ton of color in your home? Go for this color.

Hope you guys enjoyed my list of my top favourite paint colors. I am a fan more of shades as said in the beginning of this blog. I love to decorate with pieces that I can switch out. Paint is kind of a forever thing ( unless you’re super proactive and don’t mind switching it up frequently. ) If you look through most of my blogs, I love decorating with shades with a few pops of colour. I might have a lantern or a blanket that is seafoam. Right now it’s Christmas so I have a white blanket with stripes of red in it. It’s just so fun to switch out color so easily. It makes decorating fun and easy. Decorating around patterns or crazy wall colors makes it frustrating and not fun!

    Love these shades!
Would it be weird to paint both kids room and the master the same colour (griege in particular)? Can you have too much of the same paint colour/shade in one house?

No way! In our last house it was all griege & I loved it! So easy to decorate with, cozy but yet chic! I’d say go for it!
