If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve been going through a bit of a funk lately. Usually every January - March I go through a blah period, but this January I started to wean Rhett. That combined with the weather and my hormones are all over the place.
I’ve tried to keep busy with projects around the home and styling new areas.
I thought I should jump on to talk to you about how I style a dresser. For the longest time, it was a sore spot. I always found decorating a dresser so awkward. But I’m going to give you a few points on how to do it easily!

- Mirror(s)
I always like to put something on my dressers that reflect light. Especially since in my bedrooms as they’ve mostly been dark. If you do not have a mirror, you can put a big piece of art above your dresser to draw your eye away from the drawers.

2. Equal Weight
When you are styling anything: Mantle, Dresser, Sideboard etc. You want to put equal weight on each side. It doesn’t have to be symmetrical, but on my dresser you can see I have a vase with faux stems and on the other side I have a collection of three candles. Even though they aren’t the same item, it flows perfectly as both side of the dresser has equal weight.

3. Texture
Although I don’t like a ton of clutter - I like my decor pretty minimal. I have a collection of old books with the book covers ripped off on my dresser. It adds a layer of cozy to my bedroom. Also the chippy corbels add another layer of texture.

4. Candles or Diffuser
Now this isn’t a rule.. but it’s how I jam.
Now go apply rule 1,2 and 3! Happy Decorating
