As most of you know, we live in the teeniest farmhouse. It’s such a wonderful place to live, but it’s for sure made me be more organized and utilize less space. This isn’t my ideal workspace as I need a place for my printer, business line and such. But it’s doing the job right now.
This little “corner of love” as we like to call it, is indeed tiny. The desk is 3′ in width, so just enough space for a plant and my macbook. It’s between two bright windows so I have a view of the farm. It’s so relaxing.
How To Create An Inviting Workspace
- Add a pop of color. I decided on my flowers & chair, which anchor each other. I’m a huge fan of blush right now.
- Add a mirror. Why would you need to add a mirror to a workspace? It will bring in a TON of light if you don’t have great lighting in your space. If your room isn’t well lit, I find it hard to want to be in that room. You could often find me migrating to my living room to work on my couch as I didn’t want to be stuck in a gloomy space.
- Add a comfortable chair. It doesn’t have to be a pretty chair, but you need to be comfortable in your own space. Prior to having this space I sat on a kitchen chair. It wasn’t inviting. I really hated my space.
- Add a plant. Helllllooooo. If you do not own a real or fake plant in your home, please, go out and get one now. Plants, are natural happy pills. There are proven studies that show that plants, real or fake, reduce stress & boost endorphins.
Hope you enjoyed this short but sweet blog and it inspires you to revamp your work space.
