I finally have gotten two of the walls painted in our open concept downstairs and let me tell you, they look phenomenal! We picked a light grey color called “Rhinestone” from Sherwin Williams. It turns out, it was the perfect color choice. It looks pretty white, but with all my white decor, you can tell it’s grey.
Here’s a before:
And After:
I just feel like it’s so much more airy, open and pretty. I know it might not look as cozy, but I have my sofa pilled with fluffy pillows and blankets and that will have to do. The green was just so dark and on dark grey days I felt so down in the space. Not to mention, it didn’t photograph very nice either.
We plan to take this color into our dining room as well. We often use our little alcove in our dining room to stage furniture from our business so the grey will be such a nice backdrop.
Also, what do you think of my new rug? I got a little money for Christmas so I bought this rug from RugsUSA, after the exchange rate & shipping it was 136.00 for a 8×10. How insane is that?!
Today is filled with staging, running around with my head cut off & I’ve already carved out a 3 hour chunk for schooling tonight – my first module. I’m tired already thinking about the next 24 months!
The color in your living rm is
beautiful and the rug pulls
everything together. You’ve
given me so many ideas ?
Oh thank you Robin! I have so much more decorating to do in this space, but I’m so glad that the rug & paint are done!
Hi Jessica!
Love your home and style. Just wondering about your interior design program. Is it 24 months, or weeks? What institution is it with? I’ve considered doing a program like this myself, so I’m very curious. Did someone recommend this program specifically?
Thanks!
Tracy
Hello Tracy! It’s 24 weeks and is at The Interior Designs Institute.
I just researched a lot before picking one.
