Today I should be filing my taxes or getting blood work or cleaning my giant mess of a laundry room. Basically anything but sitting here sipping tea and writing a blog. But here I am, because THIS fills my cup up.
Something about blogging and getting my thoughts out, sharing new tips or design just really puts an extra bit of shine in my day.
I chatted a ton more about that in my newest IG post, so head over here to read it.
But today, the sun was streaming in all the windows, it almost felt summer like without the heat. So I took out my camera and snapped some photos.
A few weeks ago I rearranged the living room for a little change up. It won’t be staying like this because I have some huge changes coming in April, but for now, I love it!
I had this sofa table Glen made me a while back and I really wanted to put it under our picture wall on the far left, but it wasn’t long enough to be under the pictures and just looked weird. So I put it behind our sofa for now and I’m enjoying how it looks. I love how bohemian it makes our space look. It’s wondering a bit away from my signature farmhouse look and I’m okay with that. I made a realization that as much as I love a good farmhouse look, I hate clutter.. so I feel like this is a happy compromise.
If you can see from the photos, I have our sofa in the middle of the room facing the fireplace. Honestly, it’s super cozy. I’m not sure I love how it blocks off the room from the kitchen, but since it isn’t staying like this forever, it’ll do for now.
Also, I thought I should mention as I’m asked a lot about our sofa. It’s the Ektorp sofa from Ikea. We actually got it on Marketplace for 100 dollars and then Ikea sent us a new cover since the cover it came with didn’t zip up. Talk about amazing customer service!
I mean, it’s still pretty dang farmhousey.. I’m just adding a few extra modern pieces here and there.
So I hope I encourage you today to just get up and do a project! NOW, I’m ready to go tackle my list of things to do 😉
