If you guys follow me over on the ‘gram, you would of seen the quick demise of my most favourite possession, our Loloi Symbology Area Rug. This rug was not only beautiful but SO cozy underfoot.
If there’s one thing I now know, it’s that cream / white wool rugs do not mix well with four children. I can’t really blame Rhett for pouring a entire container of Mio on it because I’m the one that decided to put a wool rug in this room when I KNEW I had four busy kids.
Today I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane and show you guys all the looks our living room has had. It’s crazy how a rug can dramatically change a space.
The Many Looks Of One Living Room
- Modern Restored Living Room
This is how our current living room looks. I actually had this rug for sale and it was in storage. It was in our bedroom the last year. I’m SO thankful I had a rug to put in here currently though as the wool rug had to get thrown out. I do really love this rug, I just find it a bit colorful for what we’re wanting in the space. It’s seriously so good quality, so I’ll probably move it into our office once I get something a bit more neutral for in here.

2. Neutral Coastal Living Room
This rug was my prized possession. I knew prior to buying it that it would be hard to clean. But I ignored that little voice in my head. It’s truly SUCH a beautiful and high end rug. I’m so sad that it was stained so badly beyond repair.

3. Eclectic Bohemian Farmhouse
This rug was very short lived in here and is now in my office. In true Jess style, my decor and rugs usually play music chairs in our home. HA!
This rug is a thin layer so it’s great if you’re layering rugs as seen in our living room. It’s also super durable and cleans really nicely.

4. Modern Bohemian OasisThis living room look was very short-lived. We had a ruggable rug ( whichI think is amazing for under and table or entrance, but not cozy for a living room ) layered with this wool rug. The wool rug was STUNNING, but it shed like a mofo. It was dust bunny central and I was vacuuming multiple times a day.

5. Bohemian Farmhouse
I’m not sure if I should be concerned about the amount of rugs I’ve circulated through our home? But I’m enjoying taking a trip down memory lane! This rug was one of my FAVOURITES. It’s so beachy yet super bohemian too!

6. The Modern Farmhouse
This was one of my absolute favourite rugs. I owned it for 3 years but since we had it in such a high traffic area, it started to show signs of wear and we moved it into our den at the time.

7. Farmhouse
This is the same rug, but I wanted to show exactly how far our living room has come and transformed. It’s crazy to look back in time!
I truly love the farmhouse style, but I find it hard to upkeep with four busy and messy kids.

I should leave you off by saying that I’m beyond thankful for what I do for a living. Most of these rugs were gifted to me. I love changing out my decor and moving the rugs around to different rooms. I realize this isn’t realistic for so many. But marketplace is an awesome place to sell old decor if you’re like me and you love change!
