I hope you’re all having a great week. Things have felt heavy over here and for good reason. The last few weeks I’ve started going to therapy and it makes me laugh. As if 2020 wasn’t bonkers enough, I’ve added therapy to it all. But today I’m FINALLY sharing our completed modern coastal living room makeover with you and I couldn’t be more excited!
The products in this blog post have been gifted by Kavuus, Hudson Valley Lighting and The Citizenry.
Being a content creator for a living has given me some of the coolest opportunities and being able to makeover our space has been such a blessing!
As a refresher, here is my mood board I did back in April. A few things have changed since the original design, but I’ll be sure to tag everything.

First off, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that my rug had a fast death. Our youngest, Rhett, poured Mio all over it and we couldn’t save it.
So I purchased this rug off Amazon and it’s SO beautiful in person. Loloi has made most of the rugs in our home and I love the quality. The big cream jute rug underneath is from Rugs USA and you can find here.

In my moodboard I had a few mid-century pieces and although we didn’t get that media stand, I did in fact DIY my own cane media stand that I like even more. You can find the full DIY here.

The above pillows are from The Citizenry. An ethical and sustainable company. These pillows were actually made in India by very talented artisans. I loved them so much I actually moved them into our bedroom so I could look at them every day.
When the furniture from Kavuus was first delivered we had these stunning chairs delivered, but I found they were a bit red toned. Since their custom service is literally incredible, they switched them out for the below ones and I also got caramel leather covers.

The first thing I love of Kavuus is they’re Canadian and everything is made in Canada – it’s actually made in Vancouver, BC which is local to me.
But beyond where they are made, every detail is incredible. I’ve never owned furniture as good as quality as this. Every detail is thou out so well, even the inside cushions come with covers.

Even the bottom of our sofa cushions have clips that attach them to the sofa so they will never slide off. How crazy is it that they even thought of that detail?
We had our Aim Sectional made in Ivory Lace fabric and I customized it by putting on the “Shelby Base in Walnut”. You can customize anything you want.

We also got two of these STUNNING Decatur lamps from Hudson Valley Lighting. They are very generous in size so we actually had to build a new side table to fit it. We still have to build another side table for the other side of our sofa.

They’re such a statement pieces and really make this entire side of the room. If wanting to see how we DIY’d this side table, click here.
For an entire list of where everything in this room is from, I’ve listed everything below.
White Rug – Top Rug – Sofa – Chairs – Large White Pillow – Table Lamp – Sconces – Chandelier – Fireplace Mirror – Blinds – 1st Chair Pillows – Art TV – Olive Tree – Throw Blanket – Pouf – Knit Ball Decor – Black Vase – Similar TV Stand

I have that exact Loloi rug however its under my kitchen table. I have been thinking about doing the exact same thing and layering it under a jute rug and moving it to the living room. How large is your loloi rug and the rug underneath? Is there a formula for how big the rugs should be? I think mine under my kitchen table may be too small.
Thank you so much!
Hey! It’s such a good rug, hey?? Our jute underlay rug is wayyy to big. I’d suggest a 10×14 or 9×12 bottom rug and 8×10 top rug – our similar dimensions.
Thank you! Loving your new rug combo!
Aww, thank you! They’re so cozy. Just praying the kids don’t stain it 😂
Wow! Your living room looks fantastic! Any chance you can share where the coffee table is from?
