One of my goals of 2020 is to try and get on the blog more often. Often I feel like I don’t have enough to say.. but oh well, a photo says a thousand words Less words, more photos?? 😉
Over the course of the last few years I’ve gotten lots of questions on my favourite pieces, where to find items in a small town and what my favourite brands are… well, over the last year, things have changed and changed lots!
It was a sofa that pivoted my love for modern pieces and now I’m absolutely in love with my home. I wrote an entire blog on our sofa because I had received so many questions and guys, I still stand true to my word. We couldn’t be happier with our sofa. You can find the blog post here and a direct link to the sofa here.
I still do love the ‘farmhouse’ style but for someone with many kids, keeping this style clean is almost impossible.

I’d suggest finding a key piece in your home like a light fixture, sofa and rug and slowly start decorating around them. I say slowly because we often like to finish a room as soon as possible and then the pieces we purchased aren’t what we really want or love and it creates for a space you aren’t happy with.
For decorating shelves, I love using random thrifted items, plants, old books, baskets, books and figurines. Easy peasy and CHEAP.

Okay, let’s get to the sources of this room. Every time you see a highlighted word, that is a link which will take you directly to the piece.
The rug is my favourite item in this room and it cozies the space up but I love all the textiles in this room from the pouf to the tassel chandelier.
But what really cozies up this space are textiles like pillows!! I’ve purchased a lot of mine from Anthropologie on sale or clearance. Below I’ll have more details on specific smaller items like pillows.
Here is the grey chair and and the green chair and our sofa.
When purchasing items for your home you want to make sure they’re quality or else you will be replacing them the following year.

I really love our caramel Timber Sectional from Article as it really grounds our space and adds a ton of warmth and a bit of color. 😉
The photos behind our sofa can be found in this blog and I have a 30% off discount code for you.

The sconces are my absolute fav, they’re from Mitzi Lighting but you have to buy from one of their retailers. Click here to see the source.
The cream tassel pillow on the sofa is from H+M and the pampas grass you can find here. You can also find the DIY to our picture ledges here.

Some of the items in our room you can no longer purchase as they’re from years before. So I will only be tagging items that are currently online.
The Turkish pillow on our sofa is actually a zero waste pillow and you can find it here. The stripped pillow is from an amazing Canadian business in Toronto which you can find here.
And the most asked question of like evvvvver, is where is your Birds of Paradise from??
We purchased ours from a nursery in North Van called “North shore Tropicals“
Also, the baskets on the far wall can be found here.

And lastly, our coffee table can be found here and matching side table.
If you have any additional questions to sources in this room, please feel free to ask me and I would love to share with you!
Thank you for reading!

Hi,
Your blog is amazing. I love your style. I found it because we are about to purchase the Timber sofa in the same leather as you from Article and your blog came up in my Google search! I noticed that you recently replaced it after owning it a short while. I was trying to see if you addressed why. But I’d love to know. We have three teenagers so our would see a lot of love! Does it hold up well and any other thoughts. Thanks!
Yes. I think it would be a great option if you don’t have kids or pets. But we have four kids and a cat. We found it scratched & stained really easily and also I found it didn’t have enough stuffing in the cushions and looked sloppy.
