Well, it’s that time of year. You know, time for new years resolutions. Thing is, I kind of think they’re cheesy. I mean, yes, some of you might have major success with keeping on a routine, but for me, I’ve never really kept to a New Years Resolution, well, except for once. But that’s a whole other story.
So this year, I’ve decided to pick a Word for 2o18. In the past, I’ve seen friends and bloggers I follow pick a word and really try to devote their year to that word.
Well for me, even before the new year started, I really wanted to devote this year to self growth. I’ve shy’d away from healing different areas of my life and this year I really want to dig deep into myself. Not only for myself but for my husband and kids.
So my word this year is “Growth”. Weather that be inner growth, growth as a family, growth through my business or in my faith with Jesus, I want to focus on growth.
The thing about picking a word instead of a resolution is that you can’t go wrong. You can’t fall of the bandwagon. It’s a word that you will try to adjust, and live up to the entire year. Yes there might be steps back and there might be steps forward, or pausing… but working on things kind of looks like that, am I right?
The beauty in life is working on yourself continually. If you’re unwilling to do that, like I’ve been for the last 9 years, you come to a halt. Your relationships start suffering. You feel suffocated. You know? I think self growth is vital in survival.
As I near having to birth yet another baby, I want to be the best mama I can be to this little one. Being a parent is hard. Like, the hardest thing I will ever do. So, I’ve slowly started to dig deep and work on the one thing I can – myself.
What’s your word for 2018? Do you even pick a word? If not, what’s your resolution?
