For so long I’ve wanted a cute little entrance that greets guests when they walk in. In every single home we’ve ever lived in we haven’t had an entrance. I mean, we did but they were unbelievably cramped, full of shoes and jackets and not a space that I loved.
This home is new and I’m having so much fun playing with decor in it. In my last home, it was a very old farmhouse so I felt I had to minimize the amount of old rustic pieces in it because there is a fine line between a space looking rustic and just plain outdated. So in this space, since it is new and has clean/modern lines I feel I can play with a lot of old, vintage and rustic pieces.
Obviously each space in my home has a long way to go, but we just moved in 1.5 months ago and I’m pretty happy with how my entrance looks so far.
I ideally would love to get a piece that blocks out the heater as I’m not a fan of that. I also want a rug made for the entrance.. but that all takes money and money I don’t have, especially right now!
This year I literally sprayed all my Christmas decor with faux spray. You can buy this anywhere: Canadian Tire, Home Depot & Walmart. I just love how cozy it makes everything & our big snow fall that came last weekend is still kicking around. We have massive piles of snow everywhere.
You wouldn’t believe it from these photos but my entrance is the darkest ever. It literally always looks like night time in this space. I do have a farmhouse lamp on the other side of this space that is always on to give it a warm cozy glow.
Hope you are all having a great week. We’re heading over to my aunts tonight to do Gingerbread houses. The kids are so blessed to have so much family that love them and want to spend time with them.
