Hello friends!
It’s the gloomiest day here in Campbell River. So gloomy that I couldn’t take photos of all the lovely pieces that Glen and his team built & shipped out today. So instead, I decided to make this simple spring centrepiece.
Since Spring is a few days away, I wanted to make a fun centrepiece for my table. When I say this is cheap, trust me, it’s cheap. I bought these cans on sale for 6 dollars for the set of 4 & then I made this wooden tray. The plants came to 10 dollars ( & I’m sure we could of gotten them way cheaper, but Glen had to go to the “plant store” aka, land of overpriced plants )
I then took a teeny little brush and painted over all the letters with white paint. I totally ordered them while I as on my cellphone and I didn’t realize they were gold sparkly letters. It’s probably just me, but I think glitter is really tacky.
Once dry, I distressed slightly to blend it into the bucket.. and done! It was that simple. Plop in the plants and place on your tray. You can use any tray, but I made a tray with my nail gun & scraps as I didn’t have a tray long enough for these buckets.
I love all things chippy and “ugly” as my husband likes to say, so the tray is pretty rustic looking. But it’s totally my jam. I’m sure you could find a decently priced tray, or you could even use a plank of stained wood!
Monday’s are one of our busiest days of the week. It usually entails, staging 10 -20 pieces of furniture, wrapping them and shipping them. Today we had a few client appointments at our home between picking the kids up.
Hope this little centrepiece inspires you to think of out the box and make a fun, DIY and cheap centrepiece that you love.
