Hey friends!
I’ve missed you so much. As mentioned in a ton of earlier blogs in the last few months, I’m slowly cutting back on blogging. I’m obsessed with blogging and it’s such a fun outlet in my life. But when you have 101 things on the go, you sometimes have to put a few things on the back burner.
Today the sun was beaming through our windows, and although our downstairs is still the darkest ever, it gave me enough light to shoot my dining room.
Back in April, Stikwood sent me enough wood to plank our entire dining room. It looks amazing in person, but I could never capture its beauty over camera since our space is so dark!
The wall is literally stunning and I wish I could show you guys how beautiful it is. This is a photo that I had to brighten a TON even with the sun shinning. The downstairs of our home is not my friend.
I will have shopping links to all the pieces in this room at the bottom of this blog. But aren’t you loving my pretty flowers? They took about 3 months to come from China, but they were insanely cheap and they look so authentic! This mama is too poor for real flowers all the time.
I always find that when spring comes I love to start introducing colours into our home. Pinks and blues are mostly my favourite. But I sometimes will bring a bit of yellow in too.
One thing that I really wanted for our dining room was to feel cozy. It is a place I wanted to spend time. I mean, how many gorgeous dining rooms do you see but do people actually spend time in them? I hate rooms that feel cold and lifeless. So I made it my mission to infuse as much personality and character into our space as possible.
All the furniture is handmade by my husband and the old window & old arch were pulled out of a 120 year old store building from land our extended family owns up North.
The one thing that I’m not happy about is I used a chalk paint blend on our table and then put a polyurethane over top. Over time it’s turned very yellow, so we’re going to have to sand it down and re-stain or paint it. Other than that, I love every beat up thing in this space!
