Happy Fall Y’all!
Fall is one of my favourite seasons of all and this year is no different. I ran down to my local Save On to find some ‘Liz Marie Galvan’ Pumpkins ( As I like to call them ) and some white sugar pumpkins. I really don’t like fall colours in my home. They’re beautiful outside, but I like to keep a really neutral pallet inside.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I’ve been talking about painting my corbels and mantel slab white for the longest time. When we first moved in, we put up this wood wall and I find that the extra wood tones against the wall were just a bit much.
Glen gave me some beautiful flowers for my birthday on the 4th and I saved the Eucalyptus and dried it, I am now using that in my fall decor as I love the colour. It’s a really muted green which perfectly matches my one green pumpkin, prayer beads and my old books.
I also pulled that same green colour throughout my living room with the vases, the old shutter for decor on my coffee table and a few throw pillows. That muted green is the one colour I decided to pull through the room. The rest of the rooms is different shades of whites and creams. I love to play with different textures too.
I feel like the transformation from my summer mantel to my neutral Fall Mantel was super simple and cost me under twenty five dollars. Like I’ve said in past blogs, I don’t I don’t have a ton of room in my house to store knick knacks, so I like to use real or faux flowers and items that I can use all year round.
I’m more of a minimalist. I like to think I’m a well rounded country farmhouse decorator. But I always come back to less is more. I think it helps me keep my sanity.
I hope you’re all having a wonderful September. It’s crazy how time has been flying so fast. I feel like Christmas of 2017 just ended and now we’re less than three months from Christmas 2018!
I’d love to hear what your favourite colour to decorate with in fall is. Is it orange or yellow? Do you have a more typical fall home? Drop a comment below and I would love to check out your home decor blog!
