No Sew DIY Drop Sheet Curtains

January 9, 2019 Leave a Comment

Happy 9th friends! I’ve made it 1/3 of the way through my goal of blogging every day in January. Truth be told, I’m going on almost 3 weeks of blogging every day. But it’s been fun and I feel so inspired this month.

I always get a lot of questions about my drop sheet curtains. I made a tutorial here, but it is so bad and the photography is so ugly that I don’t even send people there anymore. I always find it super awkward taking photos of curtains. Especially since I live in a small home so typically, I can’t get the full curtain in the shot. But I’m working with what I got. So I hope this blog inspires you to go buy some drop sheets and make your own.

Shop List:

Drop Sheets – I use these

Iron ( If you don’t want there to be wrinkles )

Clips To Hang them To your Rod – I use these

These DIY drop sheet curtains are literally the easiest to do – anyone can do them. There is no measuring, cutting or sewing, just eyeballing and washing!

You take the drop sheet out of the packaging, throw it in the wash as they’re super starchy out of package. Once washed and dried, I iron mine and then lay them on the floor and fold the top sewn tab over. Depending on how much “frill” you want at the top, I normally have mine 20″ hangover.

I then clip them with 5-6 clips and you’re done. Super easy curtains!

If you wanted to block the light out & you’re handy, you could sew cotton on the back of them to make them darker. But I’ve never had an issue with them. I’ve had them for the last three years in a few different rentals and they make our homes so cozy!

PS, ignore my chairs.. they’re seen better days. I tell you, life with four kids is a bit hard on the furniture! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here’s the first tutorial I did years ago. Also if wanting to know how to make my wooden curtain rod and corbel holders, that blog is here.

Our Farmhouse Living Room and DIY Round-Up

Our Farmhouse Living Room

Hey Friends

This January has been so exciting for me. I normally struggle super hard with the ‘blues’ during January and February. Coming off a Christmas high and spending so much time with family, then January and February are just blah. You hear me?

Well this year has been completely different. We have been in full speed preparing for Rhett’s arrival. Doing DIY projects, catching up on things in the house that need fixing etc. It’s really kept my mind more positive this year and the anticipation of baby’s arrival is just like Christmas morning. ( I’m not telling y’all to go out and get pregnant in May, promise ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
