If you are new around here, we like to do projects. I’m always dreaming up simple or big DIY’s in our home, and for the past month, we’ve worked on transforming our “twin room.” Everything was painted a medium grey when we moved in, and since we have little natural light in our home, it translated into feeling very dark and gloomy. In December we finally decided to paint it white, and you can see the transformation here. Yesterday we also decided to add some simple wainscotting for a statement wall, and I couldn’t be more in love with how it turned out – and best yet, it was super inexpensive!

5 Ways To Organize a Boys Room
This morning we were supposed to finish the big modern planter box we started yesterday, but instead I got sidetracked and rearranged the boys room. Living in a really small home of 1300 square feet you have to get creative with where you store items so I thought it would be fun to jump on and share 5 ways to organize a boys room. Or, any space of your home ๐

You guys! Do you remember last year when I collaborated with The Land Of Nod & they sent the boys the most adorable bedding, light fixture & sheets? That blog went pretty viral with thousands of shares on pinterest and this year, they decked out Brinleys new room too. You can find that blog post here.
I have to say, I do feel pretty lucky as these pieces are such good quality and so unique. The boys bedding, although it’s been washed probably 20-30 times in the last year hasn’t faded at all. It looks brand new still & I get compliments on their chandelier all the time. It’s pretty retro looking, but totally suits their room.
For Brinleys room, you all know I kind of go all out as she’s our only girl, so I want her room to be like a magical little palace as you walk into it. I can honestly say, it is.
I have gold and rose gold accents throughout the room as well as pops or pink, purple and aqua. Originally when we moved into the house I hated the purple walls and then I got all her stuff in the room and it was like a magical little space.
If you’re wondering what is going on with her crib.. we just took the crib panel off today and we have somehow lost the toddler bed piece. So we threw it up for sale & Glen is going to be building her a house bed. Remember our house bunk bed we DIY’d last year? Kind of like that, but it will sit on the floor & only one level.
I’m not going to lie.. I kind of want those sheets for myself. They’re so sweet & whimsical. Her room screams little girl living here.
TLON also send this adorable basket. That I love.. I will probably eventually end up stealing it from her room an using it in another area of my home. It’s so well made and I realize that I probably have a basket thing.. and a pillow thing… and maybe a decor thing?
I’ll be doing a much more in depth post in a week once we get her house bed made ( plans will be up for that too ).. but I just had to post her new goodies on the blog today. They’re so so sweet and It was adorable to watch her fall asleep in her toddler bed today. I assumed it would be this awful struggle and I would have to yell through the baby monitor for her to get back in bed. But she rolled over, snuggle her unicorn and “Skye” and drifted off to sleep. I guess she was so ready to make the change from a crib to a bed.
Below are shopable links to the items in Brins room. Everything is seriously so cheap & great quality!
Brinley’s Whimsical Room & Baby Update

Since we moved in, the third week of October I haven’t done a ton of decorating upstairs. To be honest, I haven’t really had the desire. We have been so busy with Christmas that the rooms and bathrooms upstairs just got pushed to the side. The boys are currently still sleeping on their mattresses on the floor as we haven’t had time to build them beds.
When we first moved in I hated the paint colors in all the rooms. Brins room is purple, the boys room is dark brown, our room is yellow.. The previous owners were some colorful folks! My plan was to get all the rooms painted prior to decorating, but I just haven’t had a single ounce of energy so I decided to decorate around the purple walls.
Turns out, purple can be kind of magical!
I just love how whimsical her room her. So cozy & magical. She adores playing in her room too. For Christmas we got her a kitchen mixer & doll stroller from Hape. They make all wooden toys and they have some of the cutest little gifts. I realllly wanted to get her a faux espresso machine but Glen said she would throw it down the stairs.
Her room is actually pretty small, but all of her furniture is mini. Back in November, we made her this adorable little dress rack. Tutorial here. She plays with it often, but more times than not, just rips the dresses off.
We also made her dresser 18 months ago. It looks small, but the drawers are crazy big!
I also refinished these vintage chairs I got on Craigslist, here. Remember? The other one I accidentally ruined as I tried to paint the entire chair, but I kept this one for Brinleys room. Someday I would love to get a tufted rocker for her room, but again… $$$. Maybe when I hit the lottery!
Okay, so for the part of this blog that you’ve all been waiting for. Baby talk.
Glen & I have decided that there is a little person that will be joining our family in some form or another down the road. We aren’t sure if that is adoption, or having another biological baby. But we know that there is a spot in our hearts for a 4th child. After loosing Nolan, we both felt the urge to have another join our family to love. This step will most likely happen in 2017. But we aren’t sure how. After how hard the last pregnancy was, and the pain of loosing a child I’m not going to lie and say that I want to go through that again. I feel as if I were to get pregnant, I would live in constant fear every day. I also feel that after you loose a child as far along as we did, the luster of pregnancy is gone. Pregnancy is no longer a joyful and exciting experience. So, if we do get pregnant, we will be waiting until after we get our new business venture completely off the ground and have some amazing men in place to carry the reins ( just in case things were to go sideways again ). Oh gosh.. thinking of loosing another child and going through this pain again is pretty unbearable, but we do know that we want a 4th baby in some form or another.
The kids constantly ask if my cookie tummy is another baby. It’s a bit comical because I’ve gained a chunk of weight this holidays from eating too many chicken bowls from KFC & shortbread cookies. Thankfully the kids are beyond sweet and think it’s another baby. In their words they “just want another sister to play with”.
Have any of your lost a baby and then gone on to have a healthy pregnancy and birth? I’d love to hear your stories! Or have you adopted? We don’t have funds for adoption right now.. so that would be a last resort.
Hope you’re all enjoying this stunning day!
