I hope you all had a really great weekend! We had such an awesome weekend with a mini road trip and a baby shower for my cousin. Yesterday I got to go to Homesense ( I rarely ever get to go ) and I wanted to write a blog on the top 10 items to look for at Homesense.
So why Homesense? I feel like Homesense is the most shopped store in Canada. It also transfers over to the States. Homegoods is the exact same store and carries the same products. So this blog is for you even if you live in the US!
So without further ado.. lets’s dive into the top 10 items to look for at Homesense!
- Throw Blankets
Pretty much all my throw blankets are from Homesense and they come at a very slashed price tag! I got this beautiful cozy cream blanket, it’s almost like a gauze material, but much thicker.
This is my go to store for Vases. Even if it’s not the right colour or texture, you can easily change that with spray paint.
I’ve purchased so many super inexpensive vases from Homesense that I’ve had over the years. Another great place to find vases is the Thrift Store!
3. Decorative Stools
Whenever I got to Homesense I always look for cute accent side tables like stumps or cute stools, but I also look for cute step stools. These can be used in decor or in a Childs bathroom or near your washer and dryer!
4. Cleaning Supplies
This might be a weird one, but I like to look for cleaning supplies that aren’t ugly. Metal dustpans, wooden scrubbers, plain dusters. Items that I can have hanging from my peg wall or sitting near my sink that add to my decor instead of take away from it!
5. Pottery & Mugs
I love looking for pretty pottery when at Homesense, but my favourite is looking for mugs. I have actually quite a large selection of the mugs you see in the photo. Every time I go I always pick up a new mug and they’re our favourite mugs! They warm nicely in the microwave and don’t chip!
6. Throw Pillows
Some of my favourite throw pillows I got at Homesense and I have a quick tip for you! A lot of pillows come with super cheap inserts. Swap them out for a down or down alternative insert! You can find them at Ikea or Amazon. I like to get inserts that are 2″ bigger than the actual pillow cover so they have a full and professional look.
Here’s a video on how I transformed the below pillows
7. Baby Items
Did you know that Homesense carries baby items? I’ve found some adorable books, receiving blankets, shoes and textiles for babies! Here’s what I bought my Cousin for her shower
Over the years I’ve purchased so many cute clocks from Homesense. They make great shelfies and bedside table decor. This clock will be going in our new school room.
Over the last 10 years we’ve purchased so many gorgeous rugs from Homesense. I didn’t need any oversized rugs, but this 4×6 rug with a backing I purchased for our kitchen. Best thing is I can wash it if it gets dirty!
I love looking for napkins, table runners and tea towels. I have even used tablecloths and curtains before and lined them. I grabbed these napkins for our Thanksgiving dinner this year!
And this concludes my top ten items to look for at Homesense. What is your favourite items to find and what is your best score ever?
