Over the last few years one of my most asked questions is where the rugs in our home are from. I’m a bit of a rug hoarder and I LOVE to switch them out as they completely transform a space. I thought it would be fun to blog about my top 9 rugs in my home and where you can find them so I can refer people to this blog when asked.
A while back I posted a “Tip Tuesday” on my Instagram where I chatted about how to pick a rug. So with my top 9 rugs in my home, I’ll also give you a few pointers on how to pick your own.
Top 9 Rugs In My Home
1.

This room has gone through the ringer, but in a good way. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of amazing rug companies over and over again. I truly love Loloi Rugs and Rugs USA, both companies have stunning rugs and I have nothing but positive things to say about each company.
The above rug can be found here and the bottom layer which is a cream jute can be found here.
I actually moved the above rust rug to my office last night ( I know I’m crazy ) and I added back in our wool shag. This is a fan favourite and I must get 10+ DM’s a DAY about this rug. It’s truly so stunning and well made.
2.

We’ve had this rug since September of last year and it was a bit of a wait to get it ( I think I waited 3 or 4 months ) but so worth the wait as it’s as glorious as it looks. It’s mostly cream and some of the shag is a very light beige and seafoam green ( but again, very muted )
They also make a few other variations of colors, here’s the link for mine. The site I linked was the cheapest I could find it on the web.
3.

I don’t show the kids room often as it’s super small and hard to photograph, but their jute rug can be found here and it’s super reasonably priced!
4.

This rug in our laundry room I wish we had in a larger size so I could have in every room. It’s such a beautiful rug and super affordable too! Really easily to spot clean and camouflage stains. It can be found here.
5.

This one above is also your favourite. I also loved this one. It fades on the other side so it’s more muted. So depending on the season, you can switch it around. Here is where you will find this bright rug.
6.

Initially when we made over our laundry room in January, I voted if I should keep this rug in the space and 79% of people said no, but honestly, it is such a nice pop of color in this room and matches the decals. It’s also super cheap so if you have a mud room in your home that you want the cozy factor but you don’t want to spend much – this rug is for you.
I scored it off Amazing for 79 dollars for a 6×9, but it is no longer on Amazon so I linked the next cheapest place I could find it. Here.
7.

This is our newest rug – I haven’t even shared it anywhere yet. We’ve had it in our space for only a week. I really love the neutral ivory, beige and a little bit of grey in this rug. It’s so soothing to the eye. It can be found here.
8.

Prior to rug 7, we had this colorful rug in our master which I still love and it’s such good quality. It’s a higher price point, but the quality is absolutely amazing and it’s so plush. I’ll save for when we have a bigger home someday. For a few weeks I also had it topped with this faux cowhide.
9.

And lastly, ever since doing our deck makeover last June I’ve received a ton of questions about this rug. Since we purchased it at Homesense I thought there would be no chance in heck I would find it – but sure enough, the tag and model was on the back. With a little google searching I found it and linked the Canadian and US links below for you! We got the 8×11 and it was 179.99
Lastly, I wanted to give you a few tips when picking out your own rug
- If you have animals/kids, make sure to pick a low pile rug with a design. Designs help hide stains and low pile rugs are easy to vacuum. Stay away from shag rugs, thick jute and expensive wool rugs.
- Pick one colour in your rug to pull throughout your room. Meaning, if your rug has salmon pink in it, put a few pops of salmon pink in your decor, a pillow or even in your curtains to blend it all together.
- Rugs that have a backing are beast as they won’t slip and slide all over hardwood, laminate and vinyl floors. If your existing rug doesn’t have one, you can purchase rug backings from Home Depot for under 20 dollars!
- Expensive doesn’t always mean better. Read reviews and make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck!
If you’re still reading through this blog – thank you!! Below I’m attaching all the rugs once again so you can easily click to shop!
Also, I should note, that If you’ve seen a rug in my home not mentioned here, it’s because it
A) Wasn’t a rug I wanted to recommend as it wasn’t good quality
B) Can no longer be found on the internet to be linked
