Welcome to the blog today! Over the years I get asked where purchase my decor. We’re always on budget so I sift through sites to find discounted decor. I thought it would be fun today to tell you the top ten places to find discounted decor & how we furnish our home inexpensively!
Our home is always a work in progress and it’s always changing. I am lucky in that I get to work with brands for a living for a lot of the bigger staple pieces in our home. As for the smaller pieces, I look high and low and DIY a lot of our decor.
Top Ten Places To Find Discounted Decor
- Homesense / Homegoods
This place is one of my all-time favourite places to find discounted decor. You can often find high end brands that are marked down for a really great price. They claim to mark down 60%, but I’ve seen brands marked down for much more. I also like to shop the clearance section in these stores too! I have so many gems in our home from over the years from Homesense.
*FYI – Homesense is the Canadian version of Homegoods.
2. H&M Home
Up until this past year, I didn’t know how many cute items H&M Home had! You really have to sift through, because the majority I could care less for. But I got the above hanging basket from H&M as well as some of my planters, throw blankets, pillows and smaller decor from here.
I believe this is a Canadian only store, but don’t worry I’ve got some US stores coming at you too. Structube has a TON of really affordable decor. I have vases, pillows, blankets, vases and lighting. Their furniture is also really affordable. Our king bed was gifted to us, but it was only 599 for an upholstered bed with storage.
Now for us Canadians we can only shop online, but you can find some really adorable pieces at Target. I especially love their Hearth and Hand line from Magnolia Homes. I also really love their Opalhouse line too!
Target does carry expensive brands too, so make sure you sift through and set a price limit.
You guysssss. Amazon is one of my favourite places to find decor. I’m THAT kinda person that puts something in my cart and I wait for it to drop in prices and I snatch it up.
I’ve gotten so many beautiful rugs, books, decor, lamps and small accent pieces from Amazon. I love that they have prime delivery for my not-so-patient self and they also have an AMAZING return policy too!
Here’s a link for all of you US folks.
6. World Market
Now this store is based in the US and they sadly do not ship to Canada. But if you have a US mailbox, you can get items transferred to your CA mailbox. Their items are so inexpensive and I find so much discounted decor and furniture here. Our desk in our office is from World Market as well as a few other baskets, our old cowhide office chair and various other items throughout our home.
Wayfair can get expensive. But you can shop the deals and set a price limit. I’ve purchased decor and rugs from this site while they were priced for much more elsewhere. The key is being patient and holding an item in a saved folder and watching the price.
You might be thinking “WAIT A SECOND, Anthropologie isn’t cheap!” I know.. but hear me out. There is a way to score some amazing pieces for 50-80% off!
Anthropologie often has sales or moves last seasons decor into their sale section. Also usually on weekends they have 25-50% additional off clearance prices, so you can snag stunning decor, pillows and furniture for cheap! I have a folder saved on Anthropologie and I wait for items to drop in price. If you’re near a store location across North America, their sale section is so fun!
Keep in mind, Anthro doesn’t ship furniture to Canada. So if you want their furniture, you need a US mail box.
Ikea has such a bad rap, but they’ve been stepping up their game in the last few years! My sofa is from Ikea as well as some climbing plants, decor and baskets. They have such cute pieces! I especially LOVE their rattan line.
Etsy is such a hidden gem of handmade and electronic goods! I’ve gotten so many beatiful pieces of art, vintage pillows and decor from Etsy. It’s always a good thing to read reviews, check on shipping prices and quality of goods, but it can be so much more affordable than buying from a box store as you’re buying directly from the seller.
I hope this list of the top ten places to find discounted decor helps you with your shopping needs! Always think on an item before purchase and only purchase what you truly love.
