Hurray, Hurray, Hurray! Hey friends! I’m back. Y’all don’t even understand how stressful the last few weeks have been. Lets back up, shall we? For those of you who are just stumbling upon my blog today, here’s the low down. My sweet daughter, who is not two. Dare I say, terrible two’s? Anyways… she spit a mouthful of milk on my laptop. We cleaned it up & rushed it into the computer shop, but it hasn’t been good news. We waited & waited.. but we were without a computer for seven whole days and let me tell you this, it’s REALLY hard to run a business, schooling, blogging and everything else I do without a computer.
So, my mom lent me her ancient Macbook that is most likely from 2000. I turned it on and started looking through old photos on the computer and the computer screen went colourful and turned off! I literally didn’t even get to post a blog!
So…. then we found a 24″ 2008 Imac for sale on craigslist for 300 bucks. For some reason, he let us walk away with it for 200 dollars and I’m here, writing a blog to you and now able to market again. I mean, 200 bucks? I’m so so so thankful for this stranger, it will hold us over until my computer gets fixed!
Now that you’ve read a novel of our life in a nutshell with electronics, lets get to what you really came here for, our completed white farmhouse office. I’m absolutely in love with how it turned out. Do you remember when I posted here about how I had a vision for my office? Well, with a bit of DIYing, building & imagination, I got there. The only thing I really spent money on was this stunning chair. I used my Christmas money and splurged. I thought to myself, I could buy a chair I kind of like, or a chair that I will love. Something I’m really trying to do in all areas of my life right now is only buy something if I absolutely love it and will love it in years to come. I’m tired of spending money because something is a good deal. What’s the point of saving money if you don’t really like it 100% to begin with?!
My vision office
The only thing I’m envying is that table lamp. I’m eying one up, but I can’t quite afford it yet, so I’ll keep saving. Remember, don’t buy something else because it’s cheap.. save for what you really want!
Here’s a few changes I made to the above design
- I painted the walls white instead of a buttery cream. *Alabaster White – Sherwin Williams*
- I painted & distressed my new desk white – Glen built it for me, I finished it.
- I bought that sage plant above, but I have it downstairs and put an existing lavender plant in my office for color
- I added my DIY Curtain Rod and DIY Drop Sheet Curtains
Honestly, the end result is totally me. It might not be as styled as some designers offices might be, but it’s totally me, totally rustic modern and I lurrrrrv it!
Here’s how it looked before:
and here’s how it looks now:
The one and only thing I don’t like about my office is that you can see the baseboard on the wall. I know this is totally an OCD thing, but It bugs me. Next desk we do, we will configure it so it covers the baseboard & don’t you worry, we have it pulled away from the wall so the house doesn’t burn down!
