You guys! I’ve missed you. It’s been a bit of a struggle to jump on the blog this last week. I’ve had my three kiddos home all week and on top of that, our house has kind of been flipped upsidown as we’re changing a few things out & building new piece for our rooms.
But for today, I’m here to share a few new pieces that we have in our living room. I grew up with an auctioneer Grampa… and my family always likes to say that we like we “wheel & deal”.
Last week a designer in my area sent me an email asking if I would be interested in switching couches. Seeing as our sofa didn’t seat a lot of people and she had a massive sectional, I opted in. I mean, you only live once, right? The color isn’t my preference, but it’s so refreshing to have a ton of seating now. We love movies in our house & there’s nothing better to have a big comfy sectional to lounge out on. It isn’t the prettiest thing, but it will make memories of snuggling & having fun movie nights that much better.
Another new piece in our living room is this pretty rug. As much as I loved my pretty blue rug. It’s just too trendy for me. I’m more of a traditional girl.. I try and be trendy, and it just doesn’t suit my decor. This traditional rug looks WAY better and it was only 89.00 dollars! I sold my other one for 100, so it was a win-win. See what I told you? Wheel and Dealer… haha!
The living room is totally cozy now. I have this thing, where I fight myself because I want to be trendy but then I want comfort and coziness even more. It’s a cycle where I’ll purchase something trendy, not feel like myself.. sell it and go back to a more traditional look.
I actually think everything in this living room is different and guess how much we spent? Nothing.. Crazy hey?
Last month was a really really right month with our business. I don’t think it has ever been that slow, so we had to sell off most of our personal furniture. I guess it gave Glen an opportunity to build new pieces for our home. SO that’s why our media console, Coffee table and other pieces in our home are different.
A lot of my decor is DIY’d or Salvaged too. The box on the middle shelf has been in our family for over 100 years. I love it!
What do you think of our white woodsy living room? Are you digging it? Or did you prefer my old living room?
