Walking into the boys room you’re first greeted with their amazing house bunk beds, tutorial here & their white and copper dresser, tutorial here. Their room used to be this dark pit in the house and now it’s a airy and bright room with clean, modern lines and pops of color within the grey, white and black hues. Here’s a photo of their room before.
It was nice. But the dark flooring, dark dresser and dark bunk beds made the space feel so dark and gloomy. So we refreshed everything! Built them a new bed, painted their MDF dresser, new rug, new curtains and improved the lighting.
The curtain rods were SUPER cheap & easy to make. Tutorial Here, and the curtains were old curtains I had in storage. They seemed to fit the room perfectly as they pulled grey from the bedding and the bed!
The bedding is camping themed as our kids love the outdoors. When picking out the bedding from The Land Of Nod, they loved this set. We also picked out tree pillows. How cute are they?
The furry little grey step stools ( From Homesense ) pull more grey out of the curtains, the rug and bedding and really tie it all together.
When asking the boys what color they wanted their room they said grey & block. Boys after my own heart. I love greys, blacks and whites!
I really wanted a faux cactus in their room, but I couldn’t find one anywhere. So I put a fake plant in their room instead. Plants make you happy anyways!

Paint color for bed?
We used leftover paint and so we mixed it. But we used a grey from Fat Paint.It’s chalk Paint.
