Hey friends! This blog was actually supposed to be my favourite Amazon finds, but a follower challenged me to not post that blog as I’m trying to be more ethical in my purchases, so I thought it would be fun to share my favourite 10 ethical home brands with you.
Why is it important to try and purchase more ethically?
“It encourages innovative products and companies while discouraging others that ignore the social and environmental consequences of their actions. It empowers the consumer, giving you a say in how the products you buy are made, and how the company that makes them conducts its business.“
When you dig into how brands treat their workers, the working conditions and where they source their products from, it can be quite alarming.
A great app for checking into how Ethical company is “Good On You“. That app is mostly only for fashion. Another way to see if a company is ethical and sustainable is reading their about me section.
10 Ethical Home Brands
I’ve drooled over this website for so long and I finally got a few throw pillows from their site. They hire Artisans from all over the world and pay them fairly and source all their materials ethically. My pillows in particular were made in India.

They have so many beautiful pieces in stock.
2. West Elm
Believe it or not, this beautiful store is ethical. I have so many pieces from West Elm in our home and my favourite among them all is my olive tree and our coverlet on our bed.

I’ve had the pleasure of owning one of their linen duvet covers. It’s so soft and I honestly could never go back to cotton! They use no chemicals, there is no child labor, no discrimination and equal pay for all.
4. Magnolia Home ( Not Hand and Hearth )
Magnolia home has gone extensively out of their way to make sure their workers are paid fairly. But please do not confuse Magnolia home with their Target brand ( Hand and Hearth ) which is not ethically sourced. Below this wool rug was made by Magnolia Home.

5. Kavuus
If you’re looking for furniture that will last decades – this high end furniture store is your best bet. Our sofa and chairs are from Kavuus and I’ve never had something so comfortable and well made. I KNOW that this will last for years to come.

6. Loloi Rugs
This is my favourite company. Not only have I worked with them multiple times, but I’ve purchased rugs, pillows and blankets from this company.
Below I’m attaching all the rugs in our home.

I recently found out about this website and I’ve been drooling over all their home decor. Here is a little bit about them
“We curate beautifully designed, sustainably sourced, and ethically made goods for the modern wardrobe and home. Every purchase supports small businesses, independent makers, and artisans in the United States and around the world.”
8. Tonic Living
This is one of my favourite places to buy pillows. They’re so well made and all made in Canada with sustainable materials. They also carry brands like Renwil. We have their African baskets in our home as well. In addition to the navy pillow and large white pillow in our entrance, we also have their pillows in our living room too!

9. Droplet Home
The pillow above is made from a vintage Turkish rug. They also hire women who are in shelters to stuff a completely sustainable pillow inside made of recycled towels.
10. EQ3
Most of their products are made in Canada. Everything is manufactured in their headquarters in Winnipeg. The price point is higher, but you can have everything custom made in house. I love their selection of home decor as it’s priced quite fairly.

I love your style. I know your lights by the bed may not be sustainable but can you please share with me where you got them?
They’re from Kichler Lighting – an amazing Canadian Business. Here’s a link: https://rstyle.me/~cz-aZatw
