Hey Guys! I’m so excited to get back into the groove of daily blogging this week. Last week was a week of learning and listening. As I continue on, I will be being a lot more inclusive and understanding. But today I wanted to share my airy white dining room with you.
Our dining room is a super small room. Not even a 6×9 rug will fit in it, so we’ve learnt to maximize the space to the best of our ability.
Something that we’ve wanted to change in the last two years is the wall colour. It was. medium grey, but since our home has little natural light, it felt very dark and uninviting. On the weekend we decided to paint our dining room white and it’s made the BIGGEST impact in our space.

For me, decorating more minimally is what makes my heart happy. I don’t like a lot of stuff in my spaces or on my walls - it makes me feel claustrophobic. Since our dining room is so small, the only details we have in the space are our wicker chandelier, a 18×24″ print and the whitewashed blinds. It’s very simple and airy but exactly how I like it.

Also, I find white paint a lot easier to touch up. The grey paint as a nightmare as nothing ever matched and so even if we only filled two small holes, we would have to repaint the entire wall.

For those asking, we always use “Simple White” from Benjamin Moore in all our rooms. The only spaces in our home that are left grey are the kitchen and kids rooms.. but that will likely change over the next year!
