Since we moved in, the third week of October I haven’t done a ton of decorating upstairs. To be honest, I haven’t really had the desire. We have been so busy with Christmas that the rooms and bathrooms upstairs just got pushed to the side. The boys are currently still sleeping on their mattresses on the floor as we haven’t had time to build them beds.
When we first moved in I hated the paint colors in all the rooms. Brins room is purple, the boys room is dark brown, our room is yellow.. The previous owners were some colorful folks! My plan was to get all the rooms painted prior to decorating, but I just haven’t had a single ounce of energy so I decided to decorate around the purple walls.
Turns out, purple can be kind of magical!
I just love how whimsical her room her. So cozy & magical. She adores playing in her room too. For Christmas we got her a kitchen mixer & doll stroller from Hape. They make all wooden toys and they have some of the cutest little gifts. I realllly wanted to get her a faux espresso machine but Glen said she would throw it down the stairs.
Her room is actually pretty small, but all of her furniture is mini. Back in November, we made her this adorable little dress rack. Tutorial here. She plays with it often, but more times than not, just rips the dresses off.
We also made her dresser 18 months ago. It looks small, but the drawers are crazy big!
I also refinished these vintage chairs I got on Craigslist, here. Remember? The other one I accidentally ruined as I tried to paint the entire chair, but I kept this one for Brinleys room. Someday I would love to get a tufted rocker for her room, but again… $$$. Maybe when I hit the lottery!
Okay, so for the part of this blog that you’ve all been waiting for. Baby talk.
Glen & I have decided that there is a little person that will be joining our family in some form or another down the road. We aren’t sure if that is adoption, or having another biological baby. But we know that there is a spot in our hearts for a 4th child. After loosing Nolan, we both felt the urge to have another join our family to love. This step will most likely happen in 2017. But we aren’t sure how. After how hard the last pregnancy was, and the pain of loosing a child I’m not going to lie and say that I want to go through that again. I feel as if I were to get pregnant, I would live in constant fear every day. I also feel that after you loose a child as far along as we did, the luster of pregnancy is gone. Pregnancy is no longer a joyful and exciting experience. So, if we do get pregnant, we will be waiting until after we get our new business venture completely off the ground and have some amazing men in place to carry the reins ( just in case things were to go sideways again ). Oh gosh.. thinking of loosing another child and going through this pain again is pretty unbearable, but we do know that we want a 4th baby in some form or another.
The kids constantly ask if my cookie tummy is another baby. It’s a bit comical because I’ve gained a chunk of weight this holidays from eating too many chicken bowls from KFC & shortbread cookies. Thankfully the kids are beyond sweet and think it’s another baby. In their words they “just want another sister to play with”.
Have any of your lost a baby and then gone on to have a healthy pregnancy and birth? I’d love to hear your stories! Or have you adopted? We don’t have funds for adoption right now.. so that would be a last resort.
Hope you’re all enjoying this stunning day!
