I’m pretty obsessed with anything farmhouse. I’ve wanted olive buckets for over a year but to find them anywhere in Canada was outrageously priced. I’m talking 99.00 a bucket.. a bit greedy if you ask me. I finally stumbled across Middleton Mercantile and they have them for dollars. I’m in no way sponsored by this site ( I wish ) but I literally just found out about this site a few weeks ago and not only that, if you spend over 150 they ship to CANADIAN addresses fo’ free! This is a US based store, so if you live in the US, you can totally order from here too.
Part of my haul consisted of three olive buckets in size small. They’re still pretty massive at a foot high! I had this image in my head how I was going to put them behind my sofa and it would look so gorgeous. I mean, it does.. but the only mini Christmas trees under 18″ that I could find are total Charlie Brown Christmas trees. I spritzed them with faux snow spray to sort of hide their ugliness and plopped them in the pots!
I mean.. you can kind of see what I was going for right? I immediately ordered these faux Christmas trees to take the Charlie Brown trees place and I’ll sprits the faux ones with fake snow too! Amazon is amazing and is apparently going to be shipping them here on thursday! Not to shabby
Don’t they look so perfect with my new drop cloth curtains? I’m dying! Oh and and also, I would like to add a little note about my curtains. I’ve been receiving a lot of messages that my curtains should be touching the floor. I’m totally aware of this. In fact, I’d prefer them to be hanging on the floor, but the fact is, I have THREE little kiddos under 6. One is very destructive and constantly plays at the windows so I could just imagine her stepping on them, pulling them and eventually pulling them down. So I settled for making them 4″ above the ground to keep myself sane.
Anyways, I hope this shows you that you can literally decorate with anything. These are faux old galvanized bins made to drain olives & I just plopped trees right in and sprayed them with snow. I find store bought Christmas decor so cheesy, so I’m slowly straying away from it.
