Crate and Barrel Inspired Cypress Christmas Wreath
Every Christmas season I create a secret Pinterest board that I pin everything that inspires me. This year, I pinned a Crate and Barrel Cypress wreath that I saw online. I automatically knew I was going to try and DIY it. Now that it’s complete, I want to teach you how to make your very own Crate and Barrel inspired cypress Christmas wreath!

As you can see, the above wreath is absolutely stunning, but I don’t have one-hundred and fifty dollars plus taxes to spend on a garland, so I decided to try my hand and making it!

How To Make Your Own Cypress Christmas Wreath
I used a round wreath frame as I wanted the structure. But you can use cardboard, or even the stems of the greens.
To start, you want to make the base layers of larger pieces. As you add layers, you want to go less and less bulky.

For the bottom and even second layer, it’s okay if you can see the branches. For these two layers, you’re all about adding depth and bulk.
I tied each branch in three places. You want the first layers to be very tight so when you get to the top layers, you can stuff branches in and they will feel secure.

I tried to show you a photo of me securing the branch to the wire loop. I’ve wrapped my floral wire under the loop and I’m securing from the top so it’s very tight.
It actually goes surprisingly quickly! This cypress Christmas wreath only took me two hours from start to finish and it cost me under seventeen dollars!

Shown above is after I completed the second layer. I wanted to see how the ribbon would look.
Once you start on the third and fourth layers, you don’t want to tie the last bit of the stems down. As shown on the Crate and Barrel wreath, all stems are flowing in one direction and they look whispy.

I also DIY’d the finish on these storebought bells and I thought the most simple way to show you how to do it, is to link to my Instagram reel.
I’m pretty happy with the finished look and I’m hoping in lasts until Christmas is over. Cypress dries really nice too!

Obviously my cypress Christmas wreath looks a little bit different than Crate and Barrels because theirs is fake and mine is real, but I love the simplicity of it.

The exterior is always quite a challenge as it’s a 1970’s home that hasn’t been updated. But I hope I encourage you that you can make small changes in your home in simple ways.

So beautiful!!! Love the simple natural look of the whole front door! Cozy vibes but not cluttered! Love love love!!
Thank you so much! It’s such a small area so I’m glad I could make a big impact without overpowering
