I think every work space should be inspiring, cozy and pretty. I have set my mind to creating this kind of space for myself with a very limited ( pretty much non existent ) budget. Before I even started creating my office, I knew I wanted to make another set of these DIY Drop Sheet Curtains. They’re literally 10 bucks a panel, and probably my favourite curtains I’ve ever owned. But we had a problem, we needed a 9′ long curtain rod and those things ain’t cheap. I wanted something over 1″ thick and I was looking at over 100 dollars. That really wasn’t in my budget so I went on Pinterest to find something we could make out of scraps.. because we have a lot of those and they don’t cost us a dime! I’ll have the link for the DIY Curtain Rod at the bottom of this blog, so keep scrolling if you’re wanting that.
It took us under an hour to make the corbels & curtain rod. In the tutorial below, she purchased he corbels at Home Depot for under 10 dollars each. We had scrap wood, so we just carved our own.
My only thing is, I can’t really see my gorgeous new corbels as our little alcove in our bedroom is pretty tight so we have it 2″ away from each side of the wall.
I wish I had a better lens on my camera because I just can’t capture how pretty it is. It adds to much depth and character to my little office space.
I’m loving my space so much. I mean, there are a few decor things I have to changed & add and of course, gotta paint those yellow walls white. But overall, it’s the best space I’ve ever had to work. Lately I’ve been spending so much time in it since I’ve been doing school, blogging, Essential Oils and of course, The Rugged Home ( I market for them )
Want to make the same curtain rod? Head on over to Maison De Pax for the tutorial and while you’re there, literally drool over everything Rachel does. Not only is her home amazing, but her photography is stunning.
As always I’m so thankful that you took time to stop by the blog today. It’s one of my outlets to be able to blog when I get an idea and I’m so thankful that so many of you seem to enjoy what I have to say. What I’m trying to say is.. I’m glad I’m not hearing crickets.
In the next few days I will be working on a DIY Pillow case that I’m literally swooning over. Have you seen these all over Instagram lately? I’m creating a no sewing machine tutorial for all us non artsy folks.
