This blog has been a long time coming. First I was going to do a blog on my favorite summer pieces and now it’s warped into My Favorite Fall Pieces. I finally got my crap together to blog about it. I never thought about blogging about my wardrobe, but I’ve gotten message after message of people asking me to blog about it, so here you go. I hope this blog will be interesting enough ๐
A lot of you know that I like to do ‘Capsule Wardrobes’. If you do not know what that is, here is a mini description:
“The minimalist way to downsize your wardrobe to a capsule of 37 pieces and always have something to wear.“
I don’t really tend to stick to a strict 37 pieces, but I do keep the mentality of buying or recycling ( from previous seasons ) a few of my all time favourite pieces that I know I will wear over and over again. Sometimes It’s less than 37 pieces and sometimes it’s more. I like to buy quality pieces over quantity of pieces. I know many who seem to buy buy buy and never stop buying. I honestly do not have the budget for that so I purchase a few key pieces throughout the years that I absolutely cannot live without and then recycle those throughout the months and years. We also have a small home, so I mostly only buy things that I absolutely love because I don’t have places to store things.
A few months ago I stepped into Finders Keep Her’s and purchased these overalls and this hat. This store has been one of my favorite stores for years because I know how hard the Owner works to curate beautiful pieces and she only purchases high end and quality pieces. I knew that I would be wearing them over and over again and the price tag to me is worth it as I will probably wear them for years.
Same thing with my favourite Anorak Jacket that you’ve seen me wear for 6+ years. In 2013 I purchased the “Trooper” jacket from Aritzia and I wore it for five years almost every day and Glen just replaced it and gave me a new Trooper jacket for Christmas of 2017. I like to buy key pieces that I know wont fade out over the years.
You might think ‘I could never spend that kind of money on a piece of clothing’. But when you KNOW that you will only make a few key purchases a year and that the said piece will be worn over and over again, it’s totally worth it in my books. I also only purchase items that I’ve thought about for a super long time and I LOVE.
Again, quality over quantity.
At the same time I purchased my Z Supply overalls and hat, I also tried on this Free People top. I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it and snagged it a while later.
Pants: “Mom Jean” American Eagle
Shoes: Leather Newport Flat Free People
Also, I love how the “style” right now is pretty comfy. I’m super into scrunchies, oversized sweaters and rompers right now.
One of my all time favourite rompers is from Urban Baby Apparel. I normally wear it around the house, but I recently wore it out in the City with an oversized cardigan, some big hoop earrings and my booties. They are so versatile but honestly being a mom of four, comfort is the most important component when I decide what to wear. FYI – She’s currently sold out of Mama Rompers, but will be coming back with another drop soon. So make sure you follow her on Instagram to get all the deets. Favourite Fall pieces
Purse / Diaper Bag: Fawn Design
Booties: Call it Spring
Cardigan: Old Navy
A lot of my pieces are from past years, so I’ve linked the new versions for your convenience. I continually use these pieces in my fall wardrobe capsules and winter capsules and even into spring, so they get a ton of use. I got my favourite booties in the West Edmonton Mall while visiting my sister when my niece was born in 2016. Favourite Fall pieces
Next, I had to talk about these pants because I wear them throughout all the seasons and I’ve owned them since summer of 2015. They’re from Jbrand and they’re mid rise which I love, sucks in all the mom goods. Here’s a similar verison of their newest style. I actually love the fray at the bottoms of the jeans. They’re also a super strength cotton with a tad bit of stretch. I just love the wash on these jeans and I love that they haven’t faded over the years. Favourite Fall pieces

I also thought I should mention this Kimono as I purchased it in August of 2017 for my Brother and Sister-In-Laws Wedding to wear it with a black maternity dress and it’s probably one of my most worn pieces as well.
I grabbed it on sale at Pink Blush, they carry them in the Maternity Section and Non Maternity section and I think it might of been like 30-something dollars. I’ve used it as a swim coverup, at weddings, to church, to dress up a plain pair of jeans and a shirt. The possibilities are endless. Grab one that you love the print of and that is timeless and I promise it will be a piece that you will wear a ton of! Favourite Fall pieces
And Lastly, I thought I should talk a bit about one of my new favorite brands ( From Zion ). They make such beautiful bamboo clothing and right now she’s having a hefty 40% off.
I’ve been living in these clothes as you know I love to be super comfy. I’m kinda proud of myself, I’ve only been wearing my pajamas to bed lately and not all day. That work at home life really is hard to transition into real clothes you know.
Both leggings and tunic are From Zion and of course, the booties I talked about above. I’m also loving Bunhead Scrunchies right now. Gives you the ultimate 90’s now Millennial Look ๐ Favourite Fall pieces
