Hey Friends.
I’ve been really really trying to get on here more. It’s literally such a breath of fresh air for me, but I’m finding I don’t have a ton of time to be on here lately. It’s either a kid that needs me to change a diaper, something is spilled, laundry is piling up or trying to feed four little mouths that gets in the way.
Today as I was cleaning the house and prepping to take photos of my living room for the blog and I caught myself screaming at the kids
“DO NOT touch that!”…”DON’T do that…”
After I was done snapping photos I thought to myself, was it worth it? I mean, I got photos for my blog ( not the best photos, but photos ). But I had to scream at my kids in the meantime because they were making each other scream and Brinley almost touched my freshly washed arm chair with her dirty hand. My heart became super heavy as I sat in my empty clean living room. I wish I was super mom and I could do it all & be this lovely little bubble of happiness and patience at all times of the day.
But the fact of the matter is, I’m a stay at home mom and a work at home mom. Those two things might jive well together, but when you have four little humans in a 1500 square foot house and you’re trying to clean, keep them alive and work all.at.the.same.time… my head is spinning just thinking about it all!
I mean, there has to be balance somewhere, right?
This is how I eventually want my living room to look and I think I’m on the right track:
How it is currently:
I often find it so hard to find balance in everyday life. I’m not super good at planning and scheduling. I have countless agendas and planning apps and I somehow always fail to use them. I wish I was one of those people who could plan out my day with incremented time slots for certain things, but again so not me. I’m self motivated, but that being said I like to work on my own schedule.
Kids don’t work on your schedule. At all.
In fact, they rarely let you work. I feel like a giant frazzled hot mess express most of the time because I’m trying to squish things into my day that I have no time for like; Putting any time into myself, peeing, cleaning or being a human outside my kids. ( I’m saying this while laughing so don’t take that too seriously. )
So tell me, how do you find balance in every day life? Mamas of 3+ kids I’m talking to you. Because lets face it, I felt like an ENTIRELY new person with my life together when it was just me and the boys. Now with Brinley and Rhett in the mix I feel like my head might explode at any given time. There just isn’t enough mental space 😉

Thank you for stopping by the blog today and hearing my thoughts on motherhood. It’s been a bit rougher the last few weeks as I try to gain my footing through everything. But I’m confident that I’ll continue to figure it out.
What is your favourite part of my new living room?
I love your living room. My favou rite part (hard to pick just one) are the 2 large white baskets. You have them as coming from Creative Coop. Do you have a link for that?
I wish I could just give you a big hug and tell you that you are a great mom. I wish I could give all the young mom’s a hug. There is no denying it, it is NOT easy.
I am feeling sad for my youngest daughter with her 3 month old son. She is so unsure of herself when she doesn’t need to be. I am having lunch with her tomorrow, so I will hug her and give her an extra one for you, too.
*Smiles*
My favorite part are the cute baskets.
I love the pieces you selected for this space, they are fabulous. I love how you pulled everything together.
