Four Hands Home Inspired Shelf

June 15, 2016 14 Comments

Learn how to make this Four Hands Home inspired shelf in a day. It cost us 57 dollars in lumbar and our time.

These Shelves are seen everywhere; Restoration Hardware, Anthropology and Pottery barn. I cannot justify 1200 on a Shelf, I mean, I couldn’t even justify half of that. Back in 2012 Glen and I decided to start building and making our own furniture and decor because I have quite high end taste.

Here’s the Four Hands Home Shelf. It retails for over 900 US, so almost 1200 Canadian. One of the things we do best is save money. I think the majority of our home we’ve either built or made out of restored antiques.

Build A Four Hands Home Inspired Shelf

If wanting to build this stunning shelf, head on over to Jen Woodhouse to grab the plans.

She has so many tutorials on her blog, I kind of wish we had the brains to come up with so many amazing plans. You can often find her on Ana White Collaborating.

Now go grab your drill and saw and get to making this Four hands Inspired rustic shelf. Someday I would love to try making it out of metal too, I’ll just have to get Glen to brush up on his welding skills.

What dimensions did you make the shelves. I like your shorter version a lot for my space that needs some love! This is amazing by the way!

      Thank you so much Fawn!
We made ours 78″ Tall x 4′ Width, and 12″ depth. But I personally love the shorter version.

I love your shelf! Did you use different dimensions than the plan outlines? Your shelf looks narrower and possibly shorter than the plans? Also what color stain did you use? I’m trying to recreate your shelf as a Christmas present! Thank you!

I’m so sorry – we do not have dimensions to our shelf. Only to the Four Hands Shelf.

Thank you! Can you tell me what stains you mixed? I’m building for a friend and she wants it the same color as yours!
