Last week I decided to makeover our bathroom. Since we’re renting, we can’t do anything structural. I mean.. if I had it my way I would rip out the flooring, paint the cabinet and do a decorative touch on the walls. But since we rent, I did a free bathroom refresh with what we had. I shopped other areas of my home and got creative!

First thing is first, this bathroom is TEENY. It’s a half bath off our Master Bedroom. Honestly, even though it’s teeny, I’m so thankful for it.
Since the bathroom is darker and has dark floors I wanted to layer it in white textiles.
We got this white shower curtain quite a few years ago from Homesense and I paired it with these stunning checkered towels from Tofino Towel Co.

The next thing I did was make the free DIY art above our shower. I really wanted to do a wallpaper wall or paint.. but again, I didn’t want to alter the room too much as we aren’t staying here forever.
I decided to make my DIY mud art again, find the DIY here. This is a smaller version but I love the dark tones that offset all the white.
I also spray painted the frame of the below art to give it contrast on the white wall.

We also switched out the ugly laminate mirror for this round modern mirror which we already had and weren’t using. Then lastly, we switched out the dated bathroom light for this dual sconce!

and lastly, these shelves aren’t new, we put them up last year. Here’s the blog to my super easy DIY shelves. But I did re-style them.

I’d love to know what you think of my free bathroom refresh. It’s so fun to revamp spaces for free. Shopping your own home or your local thrift store can do wonders for your space!

I love this!!! Great ideas—I have three bathrooms in our home but they are all about this size (SoCal typical cookie cutter home 😉). I have often thought that there should be a website/blog called “Renovation without Renovating “! There are so many of us that can’t really renovate, but want to upgrade/customize our homes . Love all your ideas! Thank you!
Looks so good! The black and white is classic. Love the texture on the shower curtain, too.

Hey, what colour of paint is in the walls?
It’s simple white from Benjamin Moore
