Hey friends!
It’s been a while since I posted anything DIY or Home Decor related, but it’s for good reason. We were moving and with everything else going on in June I literally had no time to blog.
Since moving into our new home, our budget has been non existent for our new home so I knew I had to get creative. There was a man giving away a free dresser on our local swap page. The owner forgot to mention that every single slider was broken off and the dividers were also falling off. Needless to say, this dresser required a lot of work. We still haven’t gotten it perfectly straight, but since it’s so beat up, we figured that it suited the look. I’ve ordered these pulls for the dresser to give it an even more antique feel. I think they will suit the piece so much!
Our walls in our new house are green. Although they feel cozy, they are so not me. I would eventually like to paint a soft cream in the house, but exhaustion has set in and that won’t be for a while.
PS, our walls aren’t anything like the photos are showing, they are a muted calming green and in the photos they look lime. The oddest.
As ups cam see. the top is REALLY chippy. This is pretty much my favourite part of the piece. I’m obsessed with the chipping.. If you’re wondering where to buy milk paint that will do this to your pieces, it is found here.
It’s quite thick when you paint it on and looks like it will honestly ruin your piece, and then it slowly starts to dry and flake away.. I took 120 grit sand paper over this piece to take off all the debris.
As you can tell, the drawers still need a bit of help.. but Glen reminded me that the unevenness of the drawers gave it a very vintage/beat up look, which I love.
Hope you all have a fabulous week, enjoy your 4th of July for those of you Americans!
They look great. You have gave them a second life .
I really like your choice of drawer pulls.
