Today was a good day. I spent little time feeling sad and more time enjoying the day. I think the vitamin d was a huge part in this as we’ve had rain straight for 32 days. You read that right, 32 days of rain. I’m surprised we haven’t had to build an arc yet!
Something that I love to decorate with is holiday decor. We recently moved into a new home and it has a porch. My very first porch and boy is it ever cute!
We don’t go full out Christmas until the end of November, but we pulled out a few pieces of decor to make our porch extra cozy and as we speak, Glen is hanging a set of industrial patio lights to give our porch a pretty glow at night.
I like to collect vintage pieces and last year one of our amazing clients gave us this special sled. It was given to us after Christmas so all year I was so antsy to use it in my Christmas decor! I need to find a few old crates as I don’t want to use my “fresh cream flavour” crate. Doesn’t really have a Christmas vibe.
We have these massive oversized white pillows that Glen literally hates. We used to have them on our bed, but they served no purpose other than to look pretty. They’re massive, heavy and just spend most of their time on the floor. So this year, we thought we would throw them on our porch sofa.
Oh, and by the way. If I haven’t mentioned it before, Command Strips are LITERALLY MY FAVOURITE. I use them constantly, everywhere. I hate putting a billion holes in the walls and these strips make it easy to just stick things places and if you’re like me and get bored of decor after a month or two, you can take it down. No holes, no mess & no, this is not an Ad, I just really love them.
I just love how it’s so simple, yet cozy. We for sure will be putting a few garlands up around the windows and will be putting up lights, but this is just a little pre decorating that we felt we needed to do. Nothing says “Come Inside!” like a cozy porch.
We stuffed our boxwoods into these modern faux cement planters for now, but I would absolutely love to throw some mini pine trees with lights in. I’m all about Christmas and the more glow, the more festive. (In my opinion.)
Well, thats all I’ve got for now folks. I know I’ve not been the best blogger for the last few months and for good reason. I found out today that *maybe* the reason that baby passed might of been because Nolan had a twin. This is just a speculation and I wont go into it as it’s a bit too much information for my general readers.
But it explains why I was feeling extra horrible for my entire pregnancy…
Tonight we’re having a pancake night with the kids and enjoying this quiet week together. I’m so thankful for everything I have. My three beautiful living babies, my amazing husband whom I love so so dearly and our life. We have had to go through so many struggles in the last year and God just keeps proving that we are so dearly blessed and that we have SO much to be thankful for.
[…] Ours truly is, and if you want to see how we have decorated it so far, you can see the blog here. We are doing a ton more in the next coming weeks like Industrial patio lights, warm christmas […]
